Rethinking The Perch mid-pandemic required some creativity to create a safe and productive environment that is also ready for the demands of the booming remote workforce.
It barely took two weeks into quarantine for us to realize we really need boundaries between work and home life.
There always seems to be a fridge full of snacks with our name on it, or a lawn that really needs mowing. We’ve appreciated quality time with our kids and partners and pets, but let’s be honest, even the dog could use a break from us.
We’re learning just how many of us are capable of working from home and how hard that can be to separate our home life from our desk.
So, we are thrilled to be able to open our (new!) doors at a time when you need us most. Truthfully, we need the connection too. To make working at The Perch as safe as possible, we are taking all of the recommended precautions.
What we are doing:
Regularly wiping all surfaces and objects frequently touched by members and employees with disinfectant (i.e. door knobs, table tops, bathrooms, handrails, couches, seats, etc)
Hand sanitizer dispensers in frequently used areas
Having disposable masks available for guests who forget a mask
Asking members to stay home if they are exhibiting any symptoms of illness
Arranging the workspaces with smaller tables to and fewer seats to encourage physical distancing
Providing dividers between designated desks
While drip coffee is provided free in the workspace, breakfast and lunch are available from Magpie to eat upstairs in the safety of your workspace
We ask our members, visitors and employees to help by:
Wearing masks when moving around the space
Practice personal hygiene (i.e. washing hands, physical distancing, using your own coffee cups and water bottles)
Wiping down the conference room and work tables after use
Hold your guests accountable to the same practices
We are here to help you be more productive in a space built for work, and be more present at home. Suggestions? Questions? Reach out to manager@theperchworkspace.com
Hustle safely,
Amanda (Community Manager)
